Midsummer Fire Festival: Old quests gone & new quests bugged.

Here’s a little list of bugged quests that are currently being hotfixed and some general information for you guys. Hopefully they will be of some help to you during this very sweet in game holiday. I’m bias though because I really dig fire.

Striking Back? As it turns out, there’s a minor issue with this that’s preventing people under 65 from getting the quest. I cruised into the office and have begun the hotfixing process. I’m on top of it. Sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime. (src)

The Midsummer Fire Festival Begins For those who haven’t seen it — there is an issue with the sub-65 Inform the Elder portion, and we’re working on fixing it. (src

A Scorchling? Can I have one too? Please? I wouldn’t count on the Scorched Stone being buyable next year. I can’t really speak as to the shift in loot from year to year. While we have no plans currently to remove the Scorchling from Ahune’s loot, next year’s still a long way away — our stance might change in that time. Still, I’ll keep your feedback in mind. And no, I can’t give you one personally. ;) (src)

Mantle of the Fire Festival The quest to get this item was removed. Because the very same item reward is available for purchase on the Midsummer vendor for blossom cost, and because we revamped the holiday, rather. :) (src) The crown isn’t on sale because you can still do the old quests to get the crown. The Fiery Festival Brew is in the same sort of category as other, similar holiday items such as in Hallow’s End — they do neat visual things and change the look of the world for a bit, but we don’t necessarily want that look to last year round. The Brew has a distinctive look that’s very much tied to the Midsummer Festival. (src) For the record I have my crown and my little dancing fire slave :D

Brazier of Dancing Flames nerfed? The size wasn’t nerfed, actually. If you’ll recall, during the Test Realm session when Midsummer was up for testing, there was also an erroneous bug for a while that made non-combat pets much larger than they’re supposed to be. As the fire dancer qualifies as a non-combat pet, she too was affected by this bug. She was always meant to be as small as she appears now. (src) Small or not she’s still a badass distraction inArathi Basin when bored defenders would rather /dance than watch mesnatch the node muahaha

Wild Fires / Light in Dark Places quests Brace yourselves for QQ. No, the Wild Fires and Light in Dark Places quests are no longer active. If you have them completed but not turned in, you can turn them in, but there are a bunch of new quests and mechanics in their stead this year. (src) As I purposely removed the quests myself, with my own two hands and my devious mind, I’m fairly certain I’m in the right. (src) Yadda yadda it goes on for a while. I hope you all have enjoyed this lil’ report and happy questing.
