Howdy everybody. Now that you’ve had a weekend to go about throwing flaming torches and getting your fingertips singed, here’s a good solid look at the new big boss man to take down during the holiday event.

First we’ll look at the fight itself. It’s very similar to the Headless Horseman fight which is a bit refreshing. The fight is a two pahse encounter and just like Murmur, Ragnaros, and Thunderan this guy is immobile (which is very good for you)

In his 1st phase it’s a simple add battle. There will be an obviosu and rather large mob that spawns and needs to be held by the tank and killed with ranged DPS (unless you got some sick healing and melee DPS) because he does an AOE attack that stacks for a respectable amount of damage that affects melee range. While your ranged DPS is taking down the main add, there will be a bunch of weaker smaller adds spawning constantly that have very low HP. Your remaining DPS should be taking them out and if you happen to have a warlock then you’re golden as seed of corruption works great for this. Think Illhoof.

His 2nd phase is pretty much the only phase when damaging him becomes an option. In phase 1 he takes 75% less damage from all sources, however in his 2nd phase his core will be exposed and for those 30 seconds you should be going all out. Getting him down to 50% is a good indicator that you’ll be successful. Most groups shouldn’t have a problem with the fight long as your DPS isn’t eating paint chips during phase 2 and they manage to keep the adds dead during phase 1. Only other adivce I can give is obvious stay out of the fire… well in this case stay off the slippery ice that stuns you and don’t get a prostate exam from the giant ice spikes that might shoot out of the ground at your tender anus.
