Magister’s Terrace walkthrough: Part 3
Welcome to Part 3 of my little guide to the Magister’s Terrace.
Now we’re getting to the real meat of the instance. The most time spent here will be moving from the 2nd boss to the 3rd as there are plenty of big group pulls that can cause a wipe very easily if your CC and DPS aren’t working the right way.
Leaving the 2nd boss’ room you’ll come to an open patio where you can click the scrying orb and see a cutscene movie showing you the 25 man raid and the summoning of Kil’Jaden! I have to admit, this was the cool factor for me as it’s making WoW seem more inclusive and immersive.
After the cutscene Kalecgos (a boss from the 25 man and a lore character introduced in the WoW manga, also a really cool blue dragon) will come down and allow you to progress the quest chain, this next step basically says to kill Kael’thas and get your pick of some really nice red epic gems as well as getting attuned right away to the heroic mode (though this might still change but I hope not).
After the patio you have to go down a long ramp with some new sentinel mobs. They are pretty easy to take down. They have high HP like other robot mobs in the game so far but instead of casting arcane spells and such they will send out random bolts of green fel energy that will link (chain lightening) and do some pretty annoying splash damage to the group.
Lets’ just get down to it then since I already went over the majority of the kinds of mobs you’ll face in these pulls.
The only difference being that there might be the occasional Succubus mob in there that doesn’t DPS hard but (yeah you guessed it) will seduce somebody in the group taking them out of the fight. As well you might go up against a female Naga that just uses her bow for ranged damage and can cast a few spells but nothing worth mentioning as they’re not very special. As well you’ll get an ethereal that acts like any other ethereal you’ve seen in the game so far.
Just CC and focus your DPS and have one strong DPS off-tank if needed like a ranged against ranged etc. In these two courtyards on your way to the 3rd boss there are about 5 groups and a few pairs of two as well as one robot and a lone patrol.
Eventually you’ll get to the entrance to Kael’thas’s room and have to face his last line of defense!
The boss is nothing special however, for being a demon boss she is still classified as a humanoid. She will have 4 adds that are randomly chosen. There are 6 different possible adds that you can get.
Kagani Nightstrike (Rogue)
Ellris Duskhallow (Warlock)
Yazzai (Mage)
Warlord Salaris (Warrior)
Garaxxas (Hunter)
Apoko (Shaman)
Zelfan (Engineer)
The warlock and hunter will have a pet obviously, and they all have the abilities of their class. The shaman will heal and drop totems, the rogue will gouge and vanish and poison, the warlock will fear and such. It’s pretty self explanatory. Sheep one or two of the adds and roll through the rest. For a priest the boss has really low HP but she does cast flash heals at 0.5 second cast time as well she renews and shields and can dispell. You’re fighting another party of 5.
Tear them up, get your loot and get ready for Kael’thas!
