Karazhan attunement lifted in Patch 2.4!
Keeping in line with all the other changes to attunement questing, Blizzard has lifted the requirements to enter Karazhan. Now somebody still needs the key in order to open the gates and allow players to enter, but not having the key itself won’t really stop from walking in anymore.
This is very much like the UBRS (upper black rock spire) door where you only need somebody to open it for you and then you’re good to go. It makes sense to me as to why Blizzard has attunement quests in the first place in order to provide some lore aspects as well as make sure that players who can enter an instance are in line and actually able to sruvive past the front door. That’s why originally you had to be able to complete Gruul’s Lair as well as Nightbane in Kara in order to gain access to SSC.
Lifting requirements makes sens as well because it means that new gear has been added to the game, the content is older and slowly getting more and more obsolete and so removing the hoops you have to jump through just to experience the content is a great idea. There are tons of players STILL that have never seen Molten Core or Onyxia simply because of the attunement issue as well as the fact that they are both grossly obsolete.

Q u o t e:
was it so hard to really get attuned for kara?oh noes, i cant do a 5 man, but i can do 10 mans? it wasnt even that long (think Ony) you do some killing/whatever quests, then get 3 key frags, then do BM, done.
sad
It’s not a matter of difficulty, really. We wanted to make it more alt friendly at this point. I’ve gotten my kara key on four characters, and have helped a dozen others. I’m really quite content with never having to work on the attunement quest for kara again. Also, you should note that at least one person in the raid will need the Master’s Key, as the gate will function much like Arcatraz or Shattered Halls.[ Post edited by Eyonix ] (src)
