The Battle for Sun’s Reach is the name given this world event. There are tons of daily quests and different phases to the opening and advancement of the Sunwell and the Isle of Quel’Danas.

Basically there are 4 phases where more content and dailies are unlocked on your server. To unlock them your server as a whole needs to have completed a certain number of daily quests. NPCs in the area will tell you what % they are at with their work.

There used to be a quest chain involving the unlocking of bosses in the Sunwell Plateau 25-man raid but that was removed to help benefit those servers without very many end game raiding guilds. The gates in the 25-man raid that guard the last 3 bosses are going to be brought down as time progresses and your server continues the world event until the Shattered Sun Offensive conquers the island!

Now not only are you banking about 10-13 gold per quest turn in, but you are advancing the war effort which is going to unlock amenities. After phase 2 is completed and you’ve taken over the Sanctum (for example) there will be a one way portal from Shattrath city to the Sunwell area and considering it’s a REALLY long flight for Alliance that’s a big boost. Not to mention that when you finally break through to Phase 4 and the new heroic badge loot becomes available and even a new title. Not to mention you’re getting reputation with the SSO the entire time which has some really nice rewards and crafting patterns.

The people over here at curse have made an awesome walkthrough for the entire thing though it might have some outdated information and it was written from the PTR (things can change you know when we go see the live versions)
