Hero class rumors, Arch Druids, and Deathknight “attunment”?

Alright, so there are a lot of rumors flying around about Deathknights and possible other hero classes. Time and time again Blizzard has stated that hero classes aren’t supposed to be overpowered or “better” than the current classes in game but they are unique and different.

The Deathknight class for example isn’t going to be something you’ll experience as a warrior or warlock, but it appears to be a hybrid of both classes from what we have been told. People are still speculating though without any concrete official press release from the boys (and girls) in Blue.

The thing to keep in mind is that no official information has been provided on how this will work. We don’t plan to make it a big hassle as we want everybody to have the option to play the class, but that is all we have stated so far.

When things are finalized we’ll let you know how it will work. We appreciate your patience in the meantime (src)

Also I caught wind of this video from G4TV where they reported Kaplan stating in an interview that Blizzard is trying to make the Arch Druid as a class for WOTLK. It’s an interesting idea but I really can’t follow, not to mention Blizzard hasn’t officially said anything about this or even hinted at it.

Early in Febuary I posted about the possibility of Arch Druids in the game but the more I think about it, druids currently can do EVERYTHING that an arch druid was able to do in the history of Warcraft already, so what’s the point? Even more is the fact that if Arch Druids are simply beefed up badass druids, why would anybody roll a druid in the first place? And how completely insane would the outrage and fallout from players who have invested time in their druids only to watch them go the way of the cassette tape?

Here is the original video from G4TV and I’ll let you guys speculate about it until Blizzard gives us some kind of idea as to their plans/response to the whole Arch Druid thing.
