Forum trolls get squelched

Finally an answer to some of the more devious trolling. When people get their accounts banned or a keylogging group decides to just get a bunch of trial accounts to spread their scams, there’s little that can be done other than simply ignoring the spam/bait. But Drysc (earlier this hour) posted confirmation of new changes to the way trial accounts work.

Beginning today, after a required forum maintenance, Trial accounts will be restricted from posting in all forums except:

Technical Support: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?sid=1&forumId=11110
Mac Technical Support: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?sid=1&forumId=11111
Customer Service: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?sid=1&forumId=11112
Welcome to WoW: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?sid=1&forumId=69356

This will allow those on Trial accounts to still receive the help and assistance they may need, while keeping discussion forums specific to active accounts. (src)
