Experience change discovery debunked.

Ok I reported earlier today in this post about the discovered changes to EXP that Boubouille found over at mmo-champions. I guess enough of us broguth it to the attention of the forums and Blizzard responded.

Possibly, we haven’t announced or even decided on anything final whatsoever, but it really doesn’t matter how much the XP curve is increased. The important factor is how much XP you’ll be getting from the quests and kills.

You can make the bucket 10x bigger, but if the water filling up the bucket increases comparably then it’s really no different. What that does though is makes older water sources less desirable to fill your bucket from. (src)

Basically what Drysc is saying is that in order to actually release Wrath of the Lich King they have to make certain changes to the values of EXP gained and stuff like that. Otherwise what will stop you from just easy killing level 70-72 garbage mobs in the Sunwell and other end game areas for experience? Same with the heroic dungeons in Burning Crusade now.

With the required experience ramped up it means that you have to move forward and kill new mobs and do new quests that give you MORE exp than sticking to the older and easier stuff we are doing right now. Hope it makes sense to you I don’t know how else to explain it further.
