Death Knight talent trees changed.
So it seems Blizzard has secretly edited the official Death Knight page to change the description of each talent tree. They basically have made it so that each tree now has a pretty well defined mix of utility and definition. Before, the Blood tree simply said it was the DPS tree, Frost was for tanking, and Unholy was for PVP. Now they have split everything up and made it a little more concise, which is a good thing. As well they added a little spot for class roles and defined the presences.
- Tank: The plate-wearing death knight is a capable tank for small groups as well as raids. His or her damage output while tanking will be respectable.
- DPS: The death knight can also spec and gear for a melee DPS role, which draw upon many debilitating disease effects as well as direct damage and instant attacks.
Tanks that can do damage is pretty much my only gripe with my warrior and the class in general. You can be an amazing tank but outside of a group you’re pretty much screwed for farming or questing and don’t even think about leveling as protection and expect to kill something.
- Blood Presence increases damage output by a percentage and restores a percentage of damage dealt as health.
- Frost Presence increases threat and lowers damage taken by a percentage.
- Unholy Presence increases attack speed and reduces the global cooldown on death knight abilities.
So in the end it’s still pretty much set that the Blood tree will be more oriented towards damage, Frost will be more for tanking, and Unholy will be viable DPS but more for PVP and possibly leveling.
