This morning (or last night depending on where you’re at) I reported the new changes to the shaman class on the PTR currently and slated for Patch 2.4. One of them was that Flametongue weapon is now going to cause the Mortal Strike effect of reducing all healing received by 50.

I actually don’t see this as a buff in any way and only a quickie bandaid that will make enhancement shamans more viable in the arenas. We didn’t have an issue with being able to deal damage. We have issues with being kited or locked in place constantly.

Making Ghostwolf removes snares would have made infinitely more sense and would have solved a lot of the major issues with enhancement shaman in PVP. Hell if you’re just going to throw a healing debuff on something, at least throw it on Stormstrike or something.

The icing on the cake is that shamans never asked for this buff, it’s probably going to be removed or nerfed, and the best part being that it is currently BROKEN and bugged so that instead of cutting healing by 50% it’s adding an additional 50%!
