So I’m noticing a reoccurring issue with Aion and more specifically NCsoft; they have these great ideas these fucking juicy as all hell little promises that they just can’t seem to deliver.
It’s like they have this amazingly awesome cake they were given, and we all want a slice and we all know it’s going to be delicious. Then they put a dead rat on top to decorate it and write out happy birthday hitler with frosting and you’re left wondering, what the fuck happened?
With that said, I’m leery and skeptical at the application of their new Veteran Rewards system. Long story short, the older your active account is, the more badass free loot and perks you’ll be given for free as a thank you for sticking with the game. I’m a little taken aback by this as well because on the surface it looks like a really nice gesture. But the more I think about it, isn’t the sign of a good game it’s staying power?
Do these developers really think they’ve fucked this up so much that they have to give us free handouts and presents to keep us as loyal customers? Honestly just fix the fucking game already guys, I don’t give a flying fuck about a new title or new potions or some stupid ass little hat or exp boosting trinket. I’d like for the glaring issues and shortcomings to be remedied. As things stand now there’s a lot of bad outweighing the good and as great as these rewards appear, their implementation and their original motivation seem to be highly suspect. Here’s what you get though:

Month 6: Soaring Daeva
You’ve played for half a year – still, there is much more to accomplish!
Also notice that they advertise beginning of November. Let’s see if they can stay true to their own timetable, since that’s been a problem for NC soft in the recent past.
I dunno, most other MMOs (even Wow at this point) do some sort of veteran’s rewards. Most of them seem to be along the lines of extra xp and things like that (although in Wow’s case, it’s minipets and achievements.) So this doesn’t make me worry, it just seems like a nice thing to do.
The game has been out roughly a month if not a few days longer, I just don’t get how we’re “veterans” yet. I’m not a game developer but I do know time management and how to prioritize, everything on the sruface looks as if NCsoft is really dropping the ball with Aion and that makes me sad because it’s a game I really freaking want to see grow.
The game has only been out a month bro. Calm down, you know games as big as this have to go through tons of testing and debugging in order to fix small issues. If you are not enjoying the game at all then you are just wasting your time at the moment. Learn how to put something on the shelf for a while and come back to it later to see if it’s fixed. There are plenty of other things in the world to do than just sit around and complain about a game and hoping it gets fixed.
